Thakkali chutney


THAKKALI CHUTNEY
Ingredients:
Tomatoes – 4
Onions – 2
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – ¼ tsp
Pepper powder – ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 4 – 5
Salt to taste
Oil – 4 – 5 tbsp

Method:
- finely chop the tomatoes and onions
- in a wok add oil
- add mustard seeds when the oil is hot and when it starts cracking add the urad dal and fry
- add the onions and curry leaves and fry
- add salt, turmeric powder and the tomatoes and fry
- add the ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder and fry until they are done
- serve hot with dosa, idli, appam, rice, chappathi…
