Vallakai Podimass

VALLAKKAI PODIMASS

Ingredients:
vallakkai - 2
red chillies - 2 - 3
salt to taste
oil - 2 tsp
onion - 1 (finely chopped)
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
urad dal - 1 tsp
curry leaves - 10 - 12



Method:
- steam vallakkai with the skin until they are cooked
- remove the skin and grate them
- in a pan add oil
- add mustard seeds and urad dal when the oil is hot
- add the red chillies, curry leaves and the onion
- fry till onion is transparent
- now add the vallakkai and salt
- mix well and cook until the flavours are well blended
- that might take 2 - 3 mins
- serve it as a side dish
