Semiya Upuma

SEMIYA UPUMA
Ingredients:
anil semiya - 1 pac (180 gms)
water - 2 cups
onion - 1 (finely chopped)
tomatoes - 2 (finely chopped)
green chillies - 4 (finely chopped)
red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
corriander leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
salt to taste
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
channa dal - 1 tsp
urad dal - 1 tsp
oil - 4tbsp
turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Method:
- in a pan add oil
- add mustard seeds, then urad dal and channa dal
- when they turn golden colour add the onions and start frying
- add the green chillies, fry
- fry until they change to golden colour. Then add the tomatoes and the ginger garlic paste
- cook until they are smashed
- add salt to taste and turmeric powder
- add the chilli powder and water
- allow them to boil
- add the semiya and then allow it to cook
- wait until all the water goes off and then remove and add the corriander leaves and mix
- serve
