Dhal (Microwave)

DHAL (MICROWAVE)
Ingredients:
thuvar dhal - 1 cup
water - 2 cups
garlic - peeled - a handful
tomatoes - 2 (cut them into squares)
hing - 1/4 tsp
red chilli flakes - 2 tsp
salt to taste
onions - 2 (chopped lengthwise)
oil - 2 tbsp
turmeric powder - 1 / 2 tsp
mustard seeds - 1 tsp
urad dal -1 tsp
corriander leaves - 2 tsp (finely chopped)






Method:
- in a microwave bowl, add washed thuvar dal, salt, hing, turmeric, water, garlic, tomatoes and set in microwave high for 15 minutes
- its should be cooked too well so the dal is not visible, if not extend the time to another 5 minutes - 10 minutes at high
- in another bowl add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal and set in high for 1 minute
- now add the onions and chilli flakes and microwave for 4 minutes , stirring in between every 1 minute
- add the cooked dal and corriander leaves to the onions and microwave at high for 4 minutes in a half closed lid.
- Dhal is ready to serve.
